Job Description

1. POSITIONS VACANT: Consultant, International Not-for-Profit Organization, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

 

2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:

 

Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The consultant will aim to systematically document program learnings from both intervention and non-intervention facilities, strengthen data analysis, and provide handson support to the State Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) team. S/he will be responsible for the following work;

 

Key Job Responsibilities: 


(1) Documentation of AMPLI PPHI Learnings (Calibrated Drapes):

(a) Document the drapes introduction process across intervention and non-intervention facilities, including state-level and district-level roll-out meetings;
(b) Capture program learnings related to acceptance, adoption, readiness for integration, and operational feasibility from multiple stakeholder perspectives (government, providers, facility managers, private sector where relevant);

(c) Develop structured case studies, implementation narratives, and learning briefs highlighting enabling factors, challenges, and mitigation strategies;

(d) Synthesize lessons that inform scale-up, sustainability, and policy integration of calibrated drapes;


(2) Data Analysis and Interpretation Support:

(a) Support analysis of program and facility-level data related to calibrated drapes usage, quality of measurement, and reporting practices;
(b) Assist in cleaning, validating, and organizing datasets to ensure consistency across intervention and comparison sites;

(c) Generate analytical summaries, tables, and visualizations to support donor reporting, reviews, and internal learning;
(d) Provide interpretation of findings to link data trends with implementation learnings;

 

(2) Support to State Monitoring & Evaluation Team (Bhopal):

(a) Work closely with the State M&E team to strengthen routine monitoring systems related to MNH interventions in MP;
(b) Support review and refinement of data collection tools, indicators, and reporting formats related to MH interventions;
(c) Assist in preparing state-level dashboards, presentations, and periodic progress updates;
(d) Provide on-the-job support to enhance documentation, analysis, and utilization of M&E data for decision-making;
(e) Support analysis of MDSR data and correlation with PPH case incidence;


4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualifications and Experience:
(1) Applicants must have Graduate Nursing /BSW /BA or a related field from a recognized institution with experience of working in National /International development partners;
(2) Prior experience in Monitoring & Evaluation, program documentation, implementation research, or health systems strengthening preferably in maternal health or RMNCH programs;

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Demonstrated experience in data analysis and interpretation, including quantitative data cleaning and analysis using MS Excel, SPSS, STATA, or similar statistical software;

(2) Proven experience in program documentation and synthesis of implementation learnings, including development of case studies, learning briefs, technical reports, or donor documentation; 
(3) Familiarity with public health programs in Madhya Pradesh or similar state health systems, and experience working with government stakeholders at state and district levels will be preferred;
(4) Strong understanding of PPH prevention and management interventions, quality improvement processes, and facility-based service delivery monitoring will be an added advantage;
(5) Ability to translate data into actionable insights and programmatic recommendations for scale-up and sustainability;
(6) Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; working knowledge of Hindi is desirable;
(7) Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with government officials, program teams, and facility staff;


5. CONSULTANCY FEE: Consultancy fee budgeted for the position is INR 35,000/- per month (Total 1,05,000/- for 3 months) and for travel INR 102300 = Total INR 2,07,300/-.

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:

 

The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of three months. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
