Job Description
1. POSITIONS VACANT: Consultant, International Not-for-Profit Organization, Muzaffarpur, Bihar.
2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Consultant IPSI based at Muzaffarpur, Bihar. The consultant will work in close coordination with district-level government functionaries and administrators to ensure timely provision of technical assistance to the district for strengthening CPHC & Quality certification of HWC. S/he will be responsible for the following work;
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Work with district counterparts to develop roadmap, operational plans and for strengthening of CPHC in the district;
(2) Support the district, block and HWC team in roll out of district ranking & grading dashboard. Also support the district team in strengthening CPHC data systems (HWC portal, Sashaqt portal, NCD portal etc.);
(3) Undertake periodic field visits to block & HWCs for supportive supervision and mentoring, identify implementation challenges and support HWC in charting appropriate solutions;
(4) Support the district in roll out of expanded package of services at HWCs. This includes support in training of HWC team, availability of drugs and diagnostics and ensure linkage to secondary and tertiary care facilities;
(5) Support the district in quality certification of HWCs. The support will include development of road map, facilitate internal assessment of HWCs, coordination between HWC, block & districts for gap closure;
(6) Work closely with identified partners/consultants for implementation and monitoring of district specific demonstration models/ innovative solutions;
(7) Represent Jhpiego at district and divisional meetings involving government and other international development partners;
(8) Support in identification of key primary healthcare challenges in his/ her district and co-designing innovative solutions for addressing those challenges;
(9) Perform other activities, as assigned by the supervisor to achieve organizational goals;
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications and Experience:
(1) Applicants must have a Graduate degree with an essential Master’s in Public Health (MPH) / Postgraduate degree or diploma in Public Health, Health Management, or related field;
(2) At least 2-3 year (or more) of professional experience in related field will be given preference;
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Experience of working with government health systems strengthening projects and qualification in IT will be an added advantage;
(2) Good Communication (verbal & written in local language and English);
(3) Computer Proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc);
(4) Good interpersonal skills;
(5) Attentive to detail, and maintain a positive atitude;
(6) Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities;
(7) Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information;
(8) Good documentation skills
5. CONSULTANCY FEE: The consultancy fee budgeted for the position is INR 4,20,000/-.

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:
The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of Six months. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
