Job Description
1. POSITIONS VACANT: Consultant, International Not-for-Profit Organization, New Delhi.
2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The consultant will work across various health areas in India, including maternal and child health, family planning, and comprehensive primary healthcare, in collaboration with the Government of India (GoI). As part of its commitment to strengthening immunization efforts, Jhpiego serves on the Technical Expert Group (TEG) supporting the introduction of the cervical cancer prevention vaccination (HPV vaccine) in India. In alignment with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Jhpiego aims to enhance communication strategies for cervical cancer prevention and the HP vaccine rollout to ensure high visibility and generate confidence among key stakeholders. S/he will be responsible for the following work;
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Draft list of themes along with potential writers for the articles;
(2) Draft and finalize 12 op-eds;
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications and Experience:
(1) Applicants must have master’s degree in mass communication / Journalism, Public Health;
(2) Minimum 2 – 8 years of relevant experience in Op-ed writing and editorial strategy;
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Experience coordinating with domain experts;
(2) Experience in covering social, humanitarian and development subjects will be an asset;
(3) Experience with the development sector will be an asset;
(4) Results-driven, initiative-taking, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
(5) Ability to work independently or with very limited guidance;
(6) Highly motivated with a positive attitude and problem-solving approach;
(7) Good interpersonal and communication skills;
5. CONSULTANCY FEE: Consultancy fee budgeted for the position is INR 1,20,000/-.

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:
The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of three months. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
