1. POSITIONS VACANT: Consultant - Radio Technicians, International Not-for-Profit Organization, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

 

2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:

 

Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.
 

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Consultant - Radiology Technician (C-RT) shall be responsible to support the AI-assisted mammography services. This role involves operating advanced mammography equipment integrated with artificial intelligence systems to support early detection of breast cancer. The technician will work closely with radiologists, the project team to ensure high-quality imaging and seamless integration of AI technologies in patient care, and she/he will be responsible for the following tasks:
 

Key Job Responsibilities: 

 

(1) Mammography Imaging:

(a) Perform high-quality mammograms using digital mammography equipment integrated with AI software under the guidance of the radiologist;

(b) Ensure optimal image quality for diagnostic purposes while maintaining patient comfort and safety;


(2) Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

(a) Operate, calibrate, and maintain mammography and AI-integrated systems according to manufacturer guidelines and AI technical team;

(b) Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with technical support for

maintenance as needed;

 

(3) Patient Care:
(a) Pre-procedure tasks

  • Radio technicians collect and digitally fill in the required information of women and create Imaging requests on Vara Flux platform (Training will be provided).
  • Educate patients on the mammography process, ensuring informed consent and addressing concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold patient privacy standards in compliance with medical regulations.

(b) Changing Room;

  • Ensure an organized process by inviting women to the screening room in the correct sequence, avoiding random calls;
  • Welcome women into the screening or changing room and provide a clear explanation of the entire procedure, including the mammography process;
  • Uphold women’s privacy by offering separate changing rooms or curtained areas for changing into a gown;
  • Provide a secure option for storing personal belongings or ensure safe handover to an accompanying person;
  • Review and update anamnesis data accurately in Vara Flux. (Comprehensive training will be provided.);

(c) At mammography room

  • Complete the mammography procedure efficiently and guide women on how to receive their reports from the mammography unit.
  • Utilize techniques to enhance comfort during the procedure, including the use of cushioning and adjusting compression levels to suit the woman’s needs.
  • Ensure the mammography process is completed within a maximum time of 10 minutes per woman.
  • Clearly communicate the dates for report collection to each woman.

(d) Post mammography

  • If ultrasound and biopsy are conducted then the radiotechnician is responsible for collecting information (if needed in coordination with the department of Surgical Oncology or pathology) and updating in Vara Flux
  • Radiotechnician is responsible for collecting follow-up and treatment information and updating in Vara Flux.

 

(4) Data Management and Reporting:

(a) Manage imaging data, ensuring accurate and secure storage within the hospital's information system as per departmental protocol and on Vara flux (Training will be provided);

(b) Document procedures, observations, and outcomes in line with institutional and departmental policies;

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualifications and Experience
(1) Applicant must have Diploma or degree in Radiologic Technology, Medical Imaging, or a related field from a recognized institution;

(2) Minimum least 2-3 years of experience in mammography or radiologic imaging;

 

Certification:

(1) Certification in Radiology or Mammography.

(2) Licensing by the relevant state or national medical board is mandatory.

 

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Experience with AI-based diagnostic tools in imaging is preferred but not mandatory (training can be provided);

(2) Proficiency in operating digital mammography systems and imaging software;

(3) Effective communication skills in English and local language for interacting with departmental team members and women or attendants;

(4) Knowledge of radiation safety and quality assurance protocols;

(5) Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed;


5. CONSULTANCY FEE: The monthly consultancy fee budgeted for the position is INR 22,000/-

 

6. LOCATION: Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh

7. REFERENCE: C-RT-INPO

 

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:

 

The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of Two months. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
