Job Description

1. POSITIONS VACANT: Consultant - Women’s Cancers, International Not-for-Profit Organization, New Delhi.

 

2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:

 

Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.
 

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Public Health Consultant - Women’s Cancers will be responsible for providing technical, functional and operational support in intervention states towards rolling out Cancer Care services. S/he will work closely with the state teams, government officials, project partners and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the project. The person will support key research and implementation efforts aimed at strengthening cervical and breast cancer control strategies, with a special focus on costing and budget impact analysis of HPV DNA testing, field activities, documentation, and stakeholder engagement. The position will report to Senior Program Officer-Women’s Cancers. She/he will be responsible for the following tasks:
 

Key Job Responsibilities: 

 

(1) Support the costing and budget impact analysis of HPV DNA testing as a key deliverable;
(2) Develop appropriate research tools and data collection formats to gather costing-related information from both primary and secondary sources;

(3) Conduct detailed literature reviews of global, national, and local work related to cancer, with a focus on costing, service delivery models, and implementation approaches;

(4) Collect primary data from health facilities, beneficiaries and relevant stakeholders to capture real-world costs, resource utilization, and service delivery processes related to HPV DNA testing and women’s cancer services;

(5) Review and extract secondary data from published studies, government reports, costing databases, and other credible sources to inform and complement the overall costing analysis;

(6) Work with the teams to compile and analyse data collected from various sources across projects;

(7) Prepare decks, analytical summaries, and reports across cancer projects for both internal review and external dissemination;

(8) Help design IEC materials and Local Resource Packages as per project needs;

(9) Support planning and coordination of stakeholder meetings and document key discussions;

(10) Assist in writing reports, research papers, and white papers related to ongoing work;

(11) Contribute to other research and documentation activities related to women’s cancers;

(12) Coordinate with teams and field staff for timely completion of work;

(13) Travel to field sites as and when needed for data collection or meeting support;

(14) Undertake periodic travel to project sites for data collection, stakeholder engagement, and training-related activities;

(15) Work closely with national and state teams and support in development of annual work plan for projects and provide support in implementation and monitoring of project activities as per agreed plan and timelines;


4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualifications and Experience
(1) Applicant must Graduate level qualification in MBBS/ BDS/ AYUSH education in India. Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Public Health, Heath Economics or Health Management will be preferred;

(2) At least 1-3 years of relevant professional experience of working with national and international health programs/ organizations especially in the field of public health and related activities;

 

Skills and Competencies:


(1) Understanding of Global Health and development approaches with willingness to learn the technical side of program implementation;
(2) Ability to work with a diverse technical team;

(3) Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi;

(4) Ability to produce documents and reports of professional quality and coordinate activities independently;

(5) Excellent command in spoken and written English required;

(8) Excellent organizational skills;


5. CONSULTANCY FEE: The overall consultancy fee budgeted for the assignment, for the period of Two month, is INR 2,00,000/-.

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:

 

The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of Two month. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
