ECCE Programme – Simplified Scope of Work (3 years Programme)
Programme Objective
JSW Foundation aims to strengthen Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) at selected Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) by improving teacher capacity, learning practices, community participation, and quality systems. The programme focuses on creating child-friendly and activity-based learning environments that help children aged 3–6 years prepare for school readiness.
Scope of Work for Partner
The implementing partner will support the following activities across the selected Anganwadi Centres:
1. Teacher Training & Capacity Building
The partner will train Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) and Helpers on:
- Early childhood education concepts
- Activity-based and play-based learning methods
- Effective use of Teaching Learning Materials (TLM)
- Classroom management and daily activity planning
- Child development and school readiness
- Parent engagement and communication
Training Support Includes:
- Induction training for new locations
- Refresher training sessions
- Monthly handholding and mentoring visits
- Quarterly review and experience-sharing meetings
2. Teaching Learning Material (TLM) Support
The partner will support the procurement, distribution, and usage of TLM materials at AWCs.
TLM may include:
- Charts, flashcards, and learning kits
- Toys, puzzles, and activity materials
- Story books and reading materials
- Art and craft supplies
- Educational play materials
The partner will ensure that:
- Materials are age-appropriate
- TLM is regularly used in classrooms
- Materials are maintained properly
3. Monitoring & Impact Assessment
The partner will regularly monitor programme implementation and learning outcomes.
activities include:
- Monthly visits to AWCs
- Classroom observations
- Tracking teacher performance and participation
- Monitoring TLM usage
- Assessing child participation and school readiness indicators
- Documentation through photographs and reports
Reporting:
The partner will submit:
- Monthly progress reports
- Quarterly progress updates
- Annual impact assessment reports
4. Community Engagement
The partner will support community participation and awareness activities.
Activities include:
- Parent meetings and awareness sessions
- Community mobilisation activities
- Home visits where required
- Awareness sessions on early learning, nutrition, hygiene, and child development
The objective is to increase parent participation and community ownership of the Anganwadi.
5. ISO Certification Support
The partner will support AWCs in preparing for ISO certification processes.
Support includes:
- Gap assessment of centres
- Documentation and record support
- Orientation of Anganwadi staff
- Support during internal and external audits
- Coordination for certification-related activities
Expected Outcomes
By the end of the programme:
- Anganwadi Workers will confidently conduct activity-based learning sessions
- TLM materials will be actively used in classrooms
- Community participation in ECCE activities will improve
- Monitoring systems and reporting mechanisms will be strengthened
- Selected AWCs will be supported towards ISO quality certification
- Children will demonstrate improved school readiness and participation
Reporting Requirements
The partner will share:
- Monthly activity reports
- Training attendance and photographs
- Monitoring visit reports
- Community engagement records
- ISO-related documentation
- Annual impact summary
