SAMS-STC Community Guidelines
- Purpose and Scope
Our Community Guidelines exist to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive space for all users--- employers, job seekers, consultants, and partners---working toward social-sector impact. They apply to all interactions, content, and features on the SAMS-STC platform.
Be Respectful and Professional
- Treat everyone with courtesy. Use polite language, avoid harassment, slurs, and personal attacks.
- Engage constructively. Offer feedback, ask questions, and share insights in a collaborative spirit.
- Stay on topic. Keep discussions and posts relevant to social-sector roles, projects, and professional development.
Share Accurate, Relevant Content
- Post true information. When sharing your profile, experience, or project outcomes, ensure accuracy.
- Use clear titles and descriptions. For job postings, RFPs, or consultancy listings, provide complete details (scope, location, timeline, budget).
- No spam. Do not post unsolicited advertisements, repeated solicitations, or irrelevant external links.
4. Respect Privacy and Data
- Handle personal data responsibly. Only view or download candidate resumes (RAJAs/GP- RAJAs) for the role under which they applied, and never redistribute them outside the platform. Violators face immediate account suspension.
- Obtain consent. If you wish to use a profile for a different role or share with a third party, get explicit candidate permission. Never assume consent for multiple uses.
- No independent databases. All candidate data must remain within SAMS-STC's platform.
Exporting data to external systems violates these terms and DPDP Act.
- Report breaches immediately. If you discover any unauthorized data access, breach, or misuse, report to Data Protection Officer (grievance@samsstc.com) within 24 hours. Include: nature of breach, data affected, evidence.
- Respect deletion requests. If candidate requests data deletion, cooperate immediately.
Employers have 5 days; other users same-day compliance required.
- No harassment or spam using data. Using contact details obtained through SAMS-STC for unsolicited communications violates community standards. One warning, then account termination.
- Delete data timely. Employers must delete candidate data within 180 days after position closure. Failure to comply results in suspension.
- Protect sensitive data. If handling health, disability, gender, or other sensitive candidate information, encrypt data and restrict access to authorized personnel only.
Prohibited Content and Behavior
- Discrimination and harassment. Zero tolerance for content or conduct that discriminates based on race, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or other protected status.
- Illegal activities. No promotion or facilitation of unlawful behavior---this includes piracy, fraud, or unauthorized use of copyrighted material.
- Impersonation and misinformation. Do not misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or organizational affiliation.
- Malicious content. No malware, phishing, or links to harmful sites.
- Creating unauthorized candidate databases from platform data
- Selling or trading candidate data to third parties
- Using data for non-recruitment purposes (marketing, profiling, analytics)
- Failing to delete data per retention timelines
- Ignoring candidate rights requests (access, correction, deletion)
Intellectual Property and Attribution
- Respect copyrights. Only share documents, images, or media you own or have permission to use.
- Give credit. Attribute sources when discussing reports, research, or best-practice guides.
Moderation and Enforcement
- Self-govern first. If you see content that violates these guidelines, flag it using the "Report" button.
- Moderation. SAMS-STC reserves the right to remove content or suspend accounts that breach these rules.
- Appeals. If you believe an action taken against you was unwarranted, contact community@samsstc.com with details.
