Expected area of expertise

The consultant or consultancy firm should have the following qualifications and experience:

• Experience in poultry systems, livestock development, or rural livelihood programs
• Understanding of poultry nutrition, low-cost feed formulation, and locally available feed ingredients
• Experience in documenting grassroots innovations, community-led enterprises, or sustainable livelihood interventions
• Ability to conduct field assessments, stakeholder consultations, and implementation learning documentation
• Familiarity with decentralised and smallholder poultry production systems
• Strong analytical, report writing, and communication skills
• Experience working with farmer collectives, women-led enterprises, FPOs, or rural communities is preferred
• Familiarity with sustainable agriculture and circular economy approaches will be an added advantage
• Ability to assess feed formulations, ingredient suitability, and decentralised feed models from both technical and livelihood perspectives
