Job Description
1. POSITIONS VACANT: Consultant, International Not-for-Profit Organization, Kolkata, West Bengal.
2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The consultant will provide technical leadership and advisory. S/he will be responsible for the following work;
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Strengthening Clinical Care for PLHIV;
(a) Provide technical inputs for improving quality of clinical services;
(b) Support standardization and updating of national ART guidelines and clinical protocols;
(c) Advise on differentiated service delivery models and long-term patient management;
(d) Support strengthening of advanced and complicated cases;
(2) Advanced HIV Disease & Treatment Optimization;
(a) Guide for management of Advanced HIV Disease (AHD);
(b) Provide technical advice on regimen optimization, transition to updated ART regimens, and management of drug resistance;
(c) Support strengthening of viral load monitoring systems and clinical decision-making for treatment failure;
(3) Management of Co-morbidities & Integrated Care;
(a) Provide technical inputs for integration of HIV care with TB, NCDs, hepatitis, and mental health services;
(b) Support development of protocols for screening, early detection, and management of HIV-related co-morbidities;
(c) Guide mortality audits, treatment failure cases, and clinical outcome analysis etc;
(4) National & State level (Mumbai & Telangana) support for Capacity Building & Technical Support;
(a) Provide expert inputs for national consultations, technical working groups, and guideline revision committees;
(b) Support development of clinical training materials and mentoring frameworks;
(c) Participate in review meetings and provide advisory inputs to states as required;
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications and Experience:
(1) Applicants must have a MD (Medicine / Community Medicine) or equivalent postgraduate medical qualification;
(2) At least 15–20 years of clinical and public health experience;
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Extensive experience in HIV clinical management and national programme implementation;
(2) Demonstrated expertise in guideline development and clinical quality assurance;
(3) Experience working with Government of India / national health programmes preferred;
(4) Clinical Training, Mentorship, and Capacity Building;
(5) Technical Advisory and Stakeholder Engagement;
(6) Strong Analytical, Communication, and Coordination Skills;
5. CONSULTANCY FEE: Consultancy fee budgeted for the position is INR 6,00,000/- (Deliverable basis) Consultancy fee and INR 2,69,150/- is on actual basis (for travels).

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:
The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of Three months. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
