Job Description

1. POSITIONS VACANT: Consultant, International Not-for-Profit Organization, Remote.

 

2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:

 

Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:


The consultant S/he will be responsible for the following work;

 

Key Job Responsibilities: 


(1) Conduct a comprehensive labour market analysis for nurses and midwives, including a comprehensive review of the current stock and distribution of health workers, education and training capacity, demand and supply dynamics, skill mix and competency alignment, employment and absorption capacity, migration and mobility trends, regulatory and policy environment, gender and equity considerations;


(2) Review and synthesize existing national and global evidence on nursing and midwifery workforce trends to inform policy recommendations within the labour market report;


(3) Develop manuscript for publication across HRH projects, ensuring adherence to organizational standards and journal requirements;


(4) Lead advanced data analysis using statistical software, including cleaning, harmonizing, and integrating multiple HRH datasets to generate descriptive, inferential, exploratory and multivariate analytics, and conduct scenario modelling with sensitivity analysis;

(5) Prepare draft reports, presentations, and policy briefs based on findings for internal and external dissemination as and when required;


(6) Incorporate all team feedback and revisions into deliverables, ensuring quality and alignment with organizational objectives;


(7) Any other task assigned by the Supervisor;


4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualifications and Experience:
(1) Applicants must have Master’s degree in Health Economics, Public Health (Health Systems/HRH), Statistics/Econometrics, Demography, Public Policy, Anthropology, or related field.

Preferred Qualification: PhD in a relevant field.;
(2) Minimum 7-10 years of experience in relevant field;

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Data analysis and interpretation;
(2) Report writing and presentation skills;

(3) Stakeholder engagement and communication;

(4) Understanding of health workforce or labour market concepts;

(5) Basic qualitative and quantitative research skills;

(6) Project management and coordination;

(7) Ability to synthesize findings into clear recommendations;

5. CONSULTANCY FEE: Consultancy fee budgeted for the position is INR 10,000/Day (Total 40 Days).

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:

 

The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of Five months. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
