Job Description
1. POSITIONS VACANT: Consultant, International Not-for-Profit Organization (INPO), Remote.
2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Consultant will be responsible for the following work;
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Assess the existing ODK environment deployed in 2022, including identification of platform version, architecture, and all infrastructure dependencies;
(2) Perform comprehensive system and application backups to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness;
(3) Develop and document rollback procedures to mitigate risks during the upgrade process;
(4) Create and manage a test/clone environment to simulate the upgrade and validate system performance;
(5) Plan and execute the upgrade to the latest supported ODK version, ensuring adherence to recommended upgrade paths;
(6) Implement all version-specific upgrade actions, including configuration updates, database migrations, and dependency management;
(7) Validate compatibility with ODK Collect, Web Forms, third-party integrations, and data export mechanisms;
(8) Coordinate and perform production cutover during an approved maintenance window with minimal service disruption;
(9) Conduct thorough testing (functional and performance) post-upgrade to ensure system stability and reliability;
(10) Carry out post-upgrade verification, troubleshooting, and performance checks;
(11) Prepare and deliver comprehensive handover documentation, including system configuration, upgrade logs, and maintenance guidelines;
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications and Experience:
(1) Applicants must be a graduate level qualification in Computer Science, Finance or related field;
(2) At least 5 to 6 years of experience related field;
Skills and Competencies:
(1) System Upgrade & Version Migration;
(2) Backup & Disaster Recovery Planning;
(3) Database Management (PostgreSQL/MySQL);
(4) Documentation & Technical Reporting;
(5) Risk Assessment & Rollback Planning;
(6) Stakeholder Communication and Coordination;
(7) Analytical Thinking and Problem-Solving;
5. CONSULTANCY FEE: The consultancy fee budgeted for the position is INR 2,00,000/-.

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:
The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of One month. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
