Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Consultant – Lab Technician will be responsible for ensuring proper collection, handling, testing, and documentation of cervical cancer screening samples and related diagnostic activities. The role will also support broader program implementation and coordination with public and private sector facilities. S/he will be responsible for the following work;

Key Job Responsibilities: 

(1) Receive, label, and prepare samples for testing using standard laboratory protocols and equipment;

(2) Maintain cleanliness, sterilization, and calibration of all laboratory equipment as per quality standards;

(3) Ensure proper documentation of test results, maintain daily logs and adhere to project-specific data recording formats;

(4) Travel to intervention sites across Varanasi district to support sample management, on-ground implementation and assist in trainings or demonstrations;     

(5) Troubleshoot routine laboratory and equipment issues, escalate unresolved problems and coordinate with MPMMCC faculty and lab teams to ensure quality assurance and timely reporting; perform any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor;

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications and Experience:

(1) Applicants must have Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field;

(2) Proven experience working as a lab technician;
(3) Valid laboratory technician license;

(4) Working experience operating electrical and non-electrical laboratory equipment;

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Comfortable handling potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, biohazards, etc.);

(2) Proficient in MS Office Suite and database systems, with strong documentation and data management skills;

(3) Ability to work independently and under pressure, with excellent attention to detail and adherence to instructions and procedures;

(4) Skilled in operating, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment;

(5) Strong critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and good dexterity with hand-eye coordination for accurate specimen handling and testing;

5. CONSULTANCY FEE: The monthly consultancy fee budgeted for the position is INR 22,500/- and overall CTC for 3 months is INR 67,500/-.

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:

The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of three months. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
