Job Description
1. POSITIONS VACANT: Consultant – Veterinary Microbiologist (Laboratory Systems), International Not-for-Profit Organization, Delhi
2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position is expected to carry out the following activities:
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Support the drafting of SOPs for specimen collection, laboratory testing, biosafety and waste management, and data management/LIMS integration , and Checklist development for Lab readiness assessment.
(2) Conduct stakeholder visits for advocacy, assessments and/ or hands-on technical guidance to Hub laboratories (ADDLs/SLDLs) on diagnostic workflows for priority diseases.
(3) Support drafting of technical documents, protocols, training package, display materials and other project related documentation.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications and Experience
(1) MVSc / PhD in Veterinary Microbiology, Pathology, or Virology.
(2) At least 5 years of experience in implementing laboratory-based surveillance or strengthening veterinary diagnostic systems;
(3) Experience in GHS-funded projects and familiarity with WHO/ WOAH laboratory standards is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies:
(1) In-depth knowledge of veterinary diagnostic techniques (PCR, ELISA,
sequencing) and biosafety protocols.
(2) Experience in developing laboratory manuals, SOPs, and training packages for
lab technicians.
(3) Competency in data analysis and experience working with Laboratory
Information Management Systems (LIMS).
(4) Excellent communication skills to facilitate technical workshops and validation
meetings with DAHD/ICAR/SAHD.
(5) Ability to handle high-pressure deadlines and manage technical outputs
independently.
5. CONSULTANCY FEE: The overall consultancy fee budgeted for the assignment, for the period of three months, is INR 6,00,000/- + Travel

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:
The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement, initially offered until July 31, 2026.The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
