Job Description

1. POSITION VACANT: Deputy Manager - Geologist, Development Alternatives, New Delhi.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Reporting to the Program Director, the Deputy Manager – Geologist (DMG) will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and managing raw materials, such as clay and limestone at different mining site, for use in low-carbon cement production. The candidate will conduct field surveys, coordinate raw material testing, and ensure the delivery of comprehensive reports to meet project objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

(1) To undertake secondary literature survey on clay, limestone and other cement and waste-based materials across India and other countries especially Africa, Asia and Pacific;

(2) Field visits to various mining sites for collection of samples of raw materials;

(3) Undertake mapping of raw materials, quantity estimation and logistics of mining;

(4) Coordination for arrangement of raw materials and management of testing;

(5) Supervision of sample receipt, documentation, sample entry and processing of raw materials;
(6) Timely delivery of reports with clients and internal satisfaction.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualifications:

Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Geology or Applied Geology.

 

Experience:

(1) Minimum one to two years of experience in field surveys, sampling, and raw material analysis;
(2) Experience in the cement industry is highly desirable.

 

Key Skills and Competencies:

(1) Proficient in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
(2) Strong report-writing and analytical skills;

(3) Demonstrated ability to undertake extensive field surveys, analyze results and adaptability to field-based challenges.;
(4) Willingness to travel extensively as part of the role.

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

 

The gross compensation for the position can be up to a maximum of Rs. 5.4 lacs per annum, depending on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and skills.
