Location: Bengaluru (includes travel across program locations)

Dhwani Foundation is seeking a Head – Donor Engagement to lead its fundraising and donor management initiatives. The role involves designing and executing fundraising strategies, building strong donor relationships, ensuring funding sustainability, and supporting both Dhwani and its partner NGOs in resource mobilization.

The position requires strong leadership, strategic fundraising expertise, and the ability to build and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders across the donor ecosystem.

The selected candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and leadership team.

Required Qualifications

·       Graduate/Postgraduate in a relevant field

·       Minimum 3+ years of experience in fundraising, donor engagement, or similar role

·       Fluency in English

·       Willingness to travel as required

Preferred Experience

·       Experience in the social sector / nonprofit ecosystem

·       Proven track record in strategic fundraising and achieving revenue targets

·       Experience in donor relationship management (CSR, institutional donors, HNIs, foundations)

·       Experience in developing and executing fundraising strategies and plans

·       Exposure to stakeholder engagement and partnership building

The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with strong fundraising expertise and relationship-building skills. They should be able to design effective donor engagement strategies, inspire teams, and build long-term partnerships that support organizational growth and impact.

Role Deliverables / Success Indicators

·       Achievement of annual fundraising targets for Dhwani and partner NGOs

·       Development and execution of a comprehensive donor engagement strategy

·       Strong and sustained relationships with key donors and stakeholders

·       Minimum 50% funding assurance at the start of the financial year

·       Expansion of donor network and database

·       Successful pre- and post-grant engagement

·       Increased visibility and positioning of Dhwani and partner organizations

Regular reporting on fundraising performance and progress.

·       Expertise in fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and revenue generation

·       Proven ability to build and manage donor and stakeholder relationships

·       Excellent communication and persuasive skills (written & verbal)

·       Strong planning, budgeting, and execution capability

·       Ability to work independently and take initiative

·       Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

·       Knowledge of fundraising techniques, donor ecosystems, and engagement models

·       Ability to collaborate across internal teams and external partners.
