3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Associate Program Director, the Manager – Cement and Concrete Technology (M-CCT) will lead applied research in low-carbon cements, developing innovative solutions for the construction industry. This role involves setting up and managing concrete laboratories, conducting research, and providing customized solutions for industry challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
(1) Establish new concrete laboratory including setting up SOP and QC norms;
(2) Develop various mix designs, including high value and high performance concretes;
(3) Test various concretes including fresh and hardened properties;
(4) Laboratory and pilot production of concretes of various types through the use of supplementary materials;
(5) Pilot production of structural and non-structural grade concretes and products including selection and analysis of raw materials, process and analysis;
(6) Use of cement in mortar and concrete, preparation of specimens, testing and analysis of mortar and concrete samples;
(7) Support to teams on testing and analysis;
(8) Coordination with research laboratories in undertaking research and coordination;
(9) Visit various RMC and cement industries to understand their issues and provide customized solutions as and when needed;
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications:
Graduate/ Postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Cement Technology, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Concrete Technology.
Experience:
(1) Minimum three to five years of experience in the cement, concrete, or allied industries;
(2) Hands-on experience in quality control/ assurance, research laboratories, or plant operations.
Key Skills and Competencies:
(1) Proficient in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
(2) Comprehensive knowledge of technology-related businesses;
(3) Strong computer and software skills;
(4) Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and deliver results.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
The gross compensation for the position can be up to a maximum of Rs. 7.68 lacs per annum, depending on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and skills.
