Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for MER Support - HRH will support the Monitoring, Evaluation Research and Learning (MERL) activities across the Nursing, Midwifery and Human Resources for Health (HRH) portfolio. The MER Support - HRH will contribute to the design, implementation, analysis and documentation of research and learning activities, generating evidence to strengthen program implementation and inform policy and practice. S/he will be responsible the following tasks:
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Study Design and Planning;
(a) Support the design and implementation of studies, assessments and learning activities across Nursing and HRH portfolios;
(b) Conduct literature reviews and evidence synthesis to inform study design, tool development, and interpretation of findings;
(4) Develop and refine study protocols, methodologies, data collection tools, analytical frameworks, and other study documents;
(2) Data Collection and Analysis;
(a) Support and/or conduct qualitative and quantitative data collection, including KIIs, IDIs, FGDs, surveys, and secondary data abstraction, as required;
(b) Support data quality assurance, data management, cleaning, and validation;
(c) Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis, including thematic analysis, descriptive analysis, and synthesis of findings;
(d) Triangulate findings across primary data, program monitoring data, secondary data, and available evidence to generate actionable insights;
(3) Monitoring, Research and Learning Support;
(a) Provide ongoing technical support for monitoring, research, evaluation, and learning activities across assigned Nursing and HRH projects;
(b) Support documentation and synthesis of program learning, implementation experiences, emerging evidence, challenges, and best practices;
(c) Contribute to identifying evidence gaps and translating research and monitoring findings into actionable recommendations;
(d) Coordinate with program teams, partners, and relevant stakeholders to support implementation and follow-up of research and learning activities;
(4) Technical Documentation and Knowledge Management;
(a) Support the development of technical reports, presentations, briefs, learning products, and other knowledge products;
(b) Support preparation of manuscripts, conference abstracts, proposals, donor reports, and other dissemination materials, as required;
(c) Contribute to synthesis and dissemination of evidence and program learning for internal and external audiences;
(d) Ensure quality, accuracy, and timely completion of assigned research and knowledge products;
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications and Experience
(1) Applicant must have master’s degree in public health, Epidemiology, Health Systems, Social Sciences, Nursing, Statistics or a related discipline.;
(2) Minimum of 2-3 years of experience supporting monitoring, research, learning, implementation research or program evaluation in public health;
(3) Demonstrated experience in qualitative and mixed-methods research, including tool development, data collection, analysis and report writing;
(4) Experience conducting literature reviews and evidence synthesis;
(5) Experience preparing technical reports, manuscripts, policy briefs and presentations for government and development partners;
(6) Familiarity with nursing, midwifery, HRH, maternal and newborn health or health systems strengthening program will be preferred;
(7) Experience working with national and state governments and development partners is desirable;
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Strong understanding of monitoring, research and learning approaches in public health programs more specific to Nursing, midwifery and HRH;
(2) Ability to conduct literature reviews and synthesize evidence from peer-reviewed and grey literature;
(3) Experience in developing qualitative and quantitative research tools;
(4) Experience with quantitative data management and basic statistical analysis using Excel, SPSS, Stata or R;
(5) Basic understanding of qualitative research methods, including conducting Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), In-depth Interviews (IDIs), Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and qualitative data analysis through coding, thematic analysis, and interpretation of findings;
(6) Excellent analytical writing skills with experience in preparing technical reports, policy briefs and presentations;
(7) Familiarity with implementation research, program evaluations and health systems research;
(8) Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder engagement skills;
(9) Ability to work independently while managing multiple assignments within tight timelines;
5. Compensation Offered: The monthly Gross remuneration budgeted for the role is INR 70,000/-.

8. NATURE OF Engagement:
The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Fixed Term Employee (FTE) on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time engagement initially offered for a period of six months. The FTE is extendable based on performance and project requirements.
