Position Summary:
The Programme Coordinator –Child Safeguarding & Capacity Building will lead and coordinate capacity-building initiatives for the Family Strengthening Programme and other care solutions including kinship care, youth skilling and VTC, pan operations of SOS Children’s Villages India.
The incumbent will serve as the National Child Safeguarding Focal Point for the Family Strengthening Programme and will support safeguarding compliance, case management coordination, reporting, capacity building, and strengthening of child-safe programme practices across all locations.


The position will ensure effective implementation of capacity-building initiatives through Training of Trainers (ToT), cascade learning mechanisms, and continuous monitoring of learning outcomes across programme locations. The role is responsible for developing, standardizing, updating, and monitoring training systems, learning resources, assessment mechanisms, and capacity-building frameworks for programme staff, animators, caregivers, children, youth, and community stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Child Safeguarding Management and Compliance
• Serve as the Child Safeguarding Focal Point for the Family Strengthening Programme.
• Support implementation and monitoring of Child Safeguarding policies, standards, procedures, and compliance requirements across programme locations.
• Coordinate safeguarding awareness, orientation, and capacity-building initiatives for programme team, beneficiaries and other stakeholder.
• Receive, document, track, and coordinate safeguarding concerns, incidents, and cases in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Maintain safeguarding records, case trackers, documentation, and reporting systems while ensuring confidentiality.
• Coordinate with programme teams, committees, and management for timely case review, follow-up, and closure.
• Coordinate with programme locations, National Office departments, consultants, and external resource persons for capacity-building and safeguarding initiatives.
• Monitor safeguarding compliance and support safeguarding assessments, audits, reviews, and corrective action plans.

2. Capacity Building Planning and execution
• Develop annual capacity-building plans and learning priorities.
• Coordinate track and monitor implementation of capacity-building initiatives across programme locations.
• Provide technical guidance and support to locations on planning and execution of training activities.
• Promote continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and quality improvement across the programme.
• Training of SOS CV India directors, co-workers, animators as per plan.
• Conduct and support Training of Trainers (ToT) programmes.
• Strengthen cascade learning systems to ensure effective transfer of knowledge and skills to co-workers, animators, caregivers, and community stakeholders.
• Maintain training databases, trackers, records, and learning dashboards.

3.Training Content and Resource Development
• Develop, review, revise, and update training modules, facilitator guides, toolkits, learning materials, and resource packages.
• Ensure training content remains aligned with programme standards, organizational priorities, and emerging needs.
• Standardize capacity-building tools and resources for use across programme locations.
• Maintain and manage a centralized repository of training and learning resources.

4. Additional Responsibilities
• Support development of programme standards, tools, SOPs, and operational guidelines.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives undertaken by the Family Strengthening Programme.
• Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the CPO-FS in line with programme and organizational priorities.

Required Qualifications and Experience
• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Child Development, Development communications, Rural Development, Management or related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in capacity building, training, programme quality, child rights, child protection, safeguarding, or community development programmes.
• Experience in developing training modules, learning resources, and capacity-building systems.
• Experience in facilitating trainings and Training of Trainers (ToT) programmes.
• Experience in child safeguarding, case management, and safeguarding compliance will be an advantage.
• Strong facilitation, coordination, documentation, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
• Willingness to travel to programme locations as required
