3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to The Vice President and Domain Lead the Senior Manager, Technology Transfer and Management (SM-TTM) will be responsible for leading the South-South technology transfer initiatives of the Development Alternatives Group. The role focuses on advancing climate change mitigation efforts and enhancing resource efficiency in India and globally.

Key Responsibilities:

(1) Work with in-house and external research teams to help translate their ideas and expertise into projects that make a verifiable difference to commercial businesses (external and internal) through technology licensing and support in the field of building materials and technologies, cementitious materials, industrial wastes and related areas;

(2) Identifying commercial strategies for transferring technologies to industry in India and abroad including supporting proof-of-concept activities and marketing to potential end-users;

(3) Negotiating appropriate licensing contracts, technology transfer fees, royalties etc. in conjunction with legal experts;

(4) Application for patents, copyright and registered trademarks for protecting in-house technology development;

(5) Ensuring technology transfer activities support the generation of research ‘impact’ by in-house research team;

(6) Liasoning with Universities, Institutes and Organizations for sourcing and development of technologies through research partnerships and collaborative projects;

(7) Monitoring research opportunities, announcements, donor trends, and support teams in creating new businesses;

(8) Building a network of professional business contacts - clients, consultant companies and individual experts to identify potential partnerships;

(9) Project management including project planning, monitoring, reporting, writing, research and documentation; responsible for overall quality of project delivery;

(10) Management of project team to ensure seamless and high-quality delivery;

(11) Networking with national and international organization in the sustainable development arena to increase visibility of Group work and open new business opportunities.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a postgraduate or doctoral degree in Engineering, Science, or Management.

Experience:

(1) Minimum six to seven years of experience in managing research outcomes through licensing, partnerships, and commercial ventures;
(2) Must have the experience of dealing with Govt., and National/International clients.

Key Skills and Competencies:

(1) Commercial acumen with ambition to achieve results;

(2) Ability to lead and manage a team;

(3) Management skills with ability to negotiate licensing and commercial proposals;

(4) Self-motivated, disciplined and organized;

(5) Practical knowledge of computer software;

(6) Ability to communicate fluently in English.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

The gross compensation for the position can be up to a maximum of Rs. 11.16 lacs per annum, depending on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and skills.
