POSITION ROLE |
|
The Specialist, Business Development will be responsible for strategic business development by identifying new funding opportunities, developing concept notes, and preparing high-quality project proposals with required financials. The role will work closely with Thematic Specialists, Program teams to expand ChildFund India’s donor base, strengthen the program portfolio, and achieve grant revenue targets from external donors.
Remain alert and responsive to any safeguarding risks; acquire and maintain the relevant knowledge and skills necessary to promote strong safeguarding practices; understand and adhere to ChildFund India’s Safeguarding Policy and Procedures; and conduct yourself at all times in a manner consistent with ChildFund India’s safeguarding principles and standards. |

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES |
|
Business Development & Donor Engagement · Proactively research, identify, and map new funding opportunities and potential funders, including corporates, CSR partners, foundations, bilateral and multilateral agencies, and government bodies · Develop and manage a robust pipeline of new and existing donors, ensuring systematic tracking and follow-up of opportunities · Build, strengthen, and sustain relationships with new funders and strategic partners through networking, meetings, and outreach · Monitor and analyse donor trends, funding priorities, and emerging opportunities relevant to ChildFund India’s thematic focus areas · Support the development and execution of the organization’s business development and fundraising strategy, aligned with program priorities Proposal & Grant Development · Lead and support the development of concept notes, project proposals, and budgets to mobilize funds from corporates, CSR, institutional donors, and government agencies · Work closely with program, finance, and internal stakeholders to ensure proposals are technically sound, compliant, and competitive · Maintain an up-to-date reference library of donor intelligence, reports, research, and sector trends to strengthen proposal narratives · Organize and maintain ChildFund-related materials, including organizational profiles, project briefs, case studies, and impact stories for donor engagement Internal Coordination & Organizational Support · Collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure timely submission of high-quality proposals/concept notes · Contribute to continuous improvement of systems for identifying, tracking, and pursuing funding opportunities · Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities and develop new skills in support of organizational goals. · Undertake any other tasks as assigned based on organizational requirements by the supervisor. |

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION |
|
Education: Graduate degree in Communications, Development, English, or related field. Post-Graduation is preferred. Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in proposal writing or development communications. Prior experience leading the writing for large funding/grants is a must. Language Proficiency: Fluency in English, speaking & writing in advanced level. Skills and Abilities: Strong storytelling, editing, and documentation skills. Excellent time management and self-driven attitude. A good self-starter and team player who demonstrates a willingness to share information and the ability to communicate positively and effectively with all stakeholders. Experience in writing winning proposals and letters to attract funds from the Government, CSR, and institutional donors. Excellent presentation and writing skills. Knowledge: Knowledge of CSR and FCRA-compliant formats. Familiarity with social themes (child rights, WASH, education, etc

EVALUATION AND SELECTION CRITERIA |
|
Step 1: HR Pre-Screening: All Job Applications received will be collated by HR and preliminary screening will be conducted based on the minimum education and experience requirements mentioned above. The Applicants that do not meet the education and experience criteria will not be considered further for the selection process. All the qualified applications will be handed over by HR to the Selection Panel.
Step 2: Qualified applications will be further reviewed by the Selection Panel. The Selection Panel will assess and rank all the applications based on the following factors for a maximum of 100 points:

The written test will be conducted for the most highly rated applications.
Step 3: Based on the written test assessment, applications will be further shortlisted for Step 3 i.e. Interview. The applications will be evaluated by the Selection Panel for the final selection, based on the following evaluation factors for a maximum of 100 points. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS |
|
Salary starts at INR 925,000 per annum plus benefits, with scope for consideration for adjustment in line with the experience, skills, and knowledge the selected candidate brings.
