2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:

Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Consultant will Develop standardized, evidence-based triaging matrices and referral algorithms for all Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM) service packages. The consultant will design simple, actionable decision support tools to enable frontline healthcare providers to appropriately screen, categorize, manage, and refer beneficiaries based on clinical risk and service needs, thereby strengthening comprehensive primary healthcare delivery. S/he will be responsible for the following work;

Key Job Responsibilities: 

(1) Review national guidelines, operational manuals, standard treatment protocols, and relevant evidence pertaining to AAM service packages;

(3) Identify common presenting conditions, symptoms, and clinical scenarios managed at the primary healthcare level;

(4) Develop service package-wise triaging matrices, including risk categorization and referral pathways;

(5) Define screening criteria, danger signs, referral triggers, follow-up requirements, and management actions for common conditions;

(6) Design user-friendly clinical decision-support algorithms, flowcharts, and job aids for frontline health workers;

(7) Conduct consultations with program teams, technical experts, and field-level providers to validate proposed triaging frameworks;

(8) Incorporate stakeholder feedback and finalize service package-wise triaging tools and referral matrices;

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications and Experience:

(1) Applicants must have MBBS graduate (fresher or with 1 year of experience in the field of public health);
(2) Prior experience in developing clinical protocols, decision-support tools, treatment algorithms, referral systems, or technical guidelines will be desirable;
(3) Familiarity with referral systems, primary healthcare, health systems strengthening, or implementation research will be an advantage;

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Sound clinical knowledge of common conditions across the continuum of primary healthcare services;

(2) Understanding of Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) and referral systems;

(3) Ability to interpret clinical guidelines and translate them into operational tools;
(4) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

(6) Excellent technical writing and documentation skills;

(7) Ability to synthesize evidence from multiple sources and develop practical recommendations;

(8) Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills;

(9) Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);

5. CONSULTANCY FEE: Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:

The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of One month. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
