About Project:
The National Entrepreneurship Network is an independent organization developing AI-based solutions for social good. NEN is supported by reputed global institutions. NEN works closely with central and state governments in India to collaborate on solutions in the domains of healthcare, education, agriculture, etc.
NEN is implementing a project titled “To design an AI-based solution for the public good to automate anthropometric measurements for children”, being strategized and implemented by NEN-AI. As part of this project, NEN-AI is undertaking a field-based Evaluation Study across Cuttack and Khordha districts, Odisha, to validate AI-based anthropometric measurements of children (0 to 6 months) against gold-standard measurements.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The District Supervisors (DCs) will be responsible for overall coordination of district-level field operations, supervision of Data Collectors, and ensuring accurate data collection and reporting. Key duties and responsibilities of the District Supervisors will include:
(1) Coordinate closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) and Programme teams to oversee district-level field operations, participate in project training, and ensure smooth implementation of data collection activities.
(2) Supervise, mentor, and provide day-to-day guidance to Data Collectors, ensuring effective communication, coordination, and timely completion of field activities.
(3) Monitor the progress and quality of data collection, identify and resolve field-level operational challenges, and ensure strict adherence to study protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality assurance processes.
(4) Conduct field visits, perform spot checks, and independently verify anthropometric measurements to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project standards.
(5) Ensure that all field staff maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and ethical conduct, safeguarding participant information and project data at all times.
(6) Conduct qualitative data collection, including interviews and discussions with frontline workers (FLWs) and other relevant stakeholders, as required during the evaluation period.
(7) Prepare and submit regular progress reports, document field observations, escalate implementation challenges, and recommend corrective actions to the Project Coordinator and NEN-AI project team.
(8) Liaise with local government officials, health facilities, Anganwadi Centres, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth implementation of project activities.
(9) Perform any other project-related responsibilities assigned by the Project Coordinator in support of the successful implementation of the evaluation study.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification and Experience:
(1) Applicants must possess three-year Graduation (Science/Psychology/Public Health/Anthropology/Social Work/Sociology). Post Graduate in relevant subject field is desirable.
(2) Three-year experience in relevant subject/field.
Experience, Skills and Competencies:
(1) Experience in anthropometric data collection and/or field supervision;
(2) Knowledge of computer applications and data collection applications;
(3) Prior experience supervising field teams, including equipment calibration and quality checks;
(4) Strong coordination and reporting skills, with the ability to liaise with government officials and community stakeholders;
(5) Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned district for field visits and spot checks.
5. AGE LIMIT: The upper age limit is 50 years, and the cut-off date for the age limit will be the date of submission of the application form.
6. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
The gross fee budgeted for this position is a consolidated amount of Rs. 36,000 per month, inclusive of all applicable taxes and allowances. The fee will be subject to applicable tax deductions as per prevailing laws.
Note: The above fee is a consolidated monthly amount, inclusive of all allowances, including travel. No separate travel reimbursement shall be payable.
7. NATURE OF ENGAGEMENT:
The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Fixed Term Employee (FTE) on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, offered for a period of two months.
