Job Description

1. POSITIONS VACANT: Field Coordinator, International Not-for-Profit Organization, Patna, Bihar.

 

2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:

 

Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

We are looking for Field Coordinator will work closely with health facility teams, Urban ASHAs, Mahila Arogya Samitis (MAS), Jan Arogya Samitis (JAS), municipal authorities, and community stakeholders to strengthen service delivery, community participation, and healthcare utilization among vulnerable populations. S/he will be responsible the following tasks:

Key Job Responsibilities: 


(1) Replication and Systems Strengthening;

(a) Support the adaptation and implementation of tools, processes, and best practices in urban health facilities and communities;

(b) Facilitate the replication of proven approaches related to service delivery improvement, facility readiness, community engagement, and data use;

(c) Support capacity-building activities for front line workers, facility teams, and community platforms on aligned interventions;

(d) Document implementation experiences, innovations, and lessons learned to inform future scale-up;

(4) Community Systems Strengthening;

(a) Conduct mapping and line-listing of vulnerable populations, high-risk slums, and undeserved communities;

(b) Strengthen community engagement mechanisms through Mahila Arogya Samitis (MAS), Jan Arogya Samitis (JAS), and community volunteers;

(c) Support demand-generation activities and community mobilization efforts to improve healthcare service utilization;

(3) Facility and Program Support;

(a) Assist UAAMs in developing and implementing Ward Health Action Plans (WHAPs);

(b) Support facility readiness assessments and follow-up actions for quality improvement;

(c) Coordinate with government stakeholders and facility teams to strengthen implementation of urban health interventions;

 

(4) Monitoring, Documentation, and Reporting;

(a) Monitor implementation progress using program monitoring tools and digital platforms;

(b) Analyze routine data to identify gaps, track progress, and support evidence-based decision making.

(c) Prepare periodic reports, case studies, success stories, and implementation updates;

(d) Undertake any additional assignments as directed by the reporting authority;


4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualifications and Experience:

(1) Applicants must have Graduate in any discipline, preferably with a master’s degree in public health (MPH), Health Management, Social Work (MSW), Rural Development, or any relevant postgraduate qualification;
(2) At least 2–5 years of experience working in public health programs;
(3) Experience working with government health systems, National Health Mission (NHM), urban health programs, or community-based health interventions will be preferred;
(4) Experience in community mobilization, health systems strengthening, quality improvement, or program implementation is desirable;

(5) Familiarity with monitoring tools, digital reporting systems, and data analysis will be an Advantage;

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Strong communication and facilitation skills in Hindi and English;

(2) Good understanding of public health systems and community processes;

(3) Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);

(4) Strong documentation and report-writing skills;

(5) Ability to work collaboratively with government officials, health workers, and community stakeholders;

(6) Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;

(7) Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines;

(8) High level of professionalism and confidentiality;


5. Compensation Offered: The monthly Gross remuneration budgeted for the role is INR 35,000/- per month and INR 5,000/- (for travel)

6. LOCATION: Patna, Bihar

8. NATURE OF Engagement:


The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Fixed Term Employee (FTE) on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time engagement initially offered for a period of two months. The FTE is extendable based on performance and project requirements.
