Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for Program officer Comprehensive Primary Healthcare. The incumbents will be based in MoHFW, New Delhi and will provide technical and managerial expertise to Director, NHM, MOHFW and Associate Director, Client to shape strategies and activities for strengthening comprehensive primary healthcare and other areas. The position will report to the Associate Director. S/he will be responsible the following tasks:
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Work closely with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Jhpiego India Country Office, to support the formulation of strategies, implementation plans, and monitoring frameworks for initiatives under Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) and the National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission;
(2) Provide technical assistance and guidance to states in developing state-specific proposals and implementation plans for activities under CPHC and the Sickle Cell Elimination Mission;
(3) Engage with National government counterparts to design, execute, and monitor tailored project activities, including the development of roadmaps, Programme Implementation Plans (PIPs), and other strategic documents related to CPHC and the Sickle Cell Elimination Mission;
(4) Liaise with the Director, NHM, to support state officials in effective project management, ensuring timely responses to requests and facilitating regular coordination meetings with key stakeholders, partners, academic institutions, and potential collaborators;
(5) Work as a liaison between MoHFW and Jhpiego to ensure smooth relation and establish Jhpiego as a key technical partner for CPHC and other intersections of PHC;
(6) Explore possibilities for Jhpiego working with MoHFW on Thalassemias;
(7) Undertake frequent travel to states and districts as required by project activities;
(8) Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor to support organizational objectives;
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications and Experience:
(1) Applicants must have Master’s in Community Medicine/ Public Health/ PG Diploma in Health Management/ Masters in Business Management/ Masters in Social Sciences is essential and Bachelor's in any stream (Social Sciences/ Social Work/ Medicine/ Nursing/ Dentistry/ AYUSH);
(2) At least 3 years of experience in Public Health sector;
(3) In-depth understanding of the interventions under CPHC like Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Formerly called HWCs), other national health programs, and the newer and emerging priority initiatives of the MoHFW, GoI;
(4) Prior work experience with the ministry (MoHFW) or the other counterparts towards the provisions under the CPHC domain;
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Proficiency in writing technical and programmatic documents such as training materials and reports;
(2) Ability to handle a variety of assignments under the pressure of deadlines;
(3) Strong written and oral communication skills in English, and Hindi;
(4) Proficiency in writing technical and programmatic documents such as training materials and reports;
(5) Proficiency in computers – Microsoft Office;
(6) Ability and willingness to travel up to 40 % of his/her time;
(7) Candidates who are ready to join immediately are preferred;
5. Compensation Offered: The monthly Gross remuneration budgeted for the role is INR 71,700/- per month and for 2 months INR 2,00,000/- (consultancy +M&IE +Stay +travel)

8. NATURE OF Engagement:
The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Fixed Term Employee (FTE) on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time engagement initially offered for a period of two months. The FTE is extendable based on performance and project requirements.
