Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for Senior Instructional Designer will provide senior-level instructional design support for digital and blended learning initiatives under Client’s Global Health Security program. The position will translate complex clinical, technical, and public health content into practical, engaging, competency-based learning experiences for health professionals, frontline health workers, program personnel, and other priority audiences.
The Senior Instructional Designer work closely with GHS technical leads, clinical and public health subject-matter experts, program teams, multimedia developers, technology partners, and other stakeholders. The role will support the full learning-development cycle, including needs assessment, learning architecture, content design, storyboarding, development, technical review, quality assurance, localization, deployment, and continuous
improvement S/he will be responsible the following tasks:
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Instructional strategy and learning analysis;
(a) Conduct or support learning-needs, audience, task, and performance-gap analyses;
(b) Define learner profiles, competency requirements, learning objectives, delivery constraints, and measurable learning outcomes;
(c) Develop instructional strategies and learning architectures for digital, blended, facilitated,
simulation-based, and performance-support interventions;
(d) Recommend learning approaches appropriate for multilingual, mobile-first, low-bandwidth, and resource-constrained environments;
(e) Contribute to the development of workplans, design standards, learning frameworks, and
implementation approaches for assigned learning initiatives;
(2) Clinical and public health learning design;
(a) Review clinical standards, technical guidance, protocols, curricula, standard operating procedures, and job aids to identify relevant learning content;
(b) Translate complex clinical and public health information into clear, accurate, and action-oriented instruction;
(c) Design competency-aligned learning pathways for health professionals, frontline health workers, and other GHS stakeholders;
(d) Develop cases, branching scenarios, decision-making exercises, guided practice, knowledge checks, assessments, and feedback mechanisms;
(e) Ensure that learning content reflects approved technical guidance and appropriately addresses patient safety, scope of practice, ethics, inclusion, and local context;
(f) Work with technical experts to resolve content gaps, inconsistencies, and conflicting feedback;
(3) Digital and blended learning development;
(a) Prepare course design documents, content outlines, scripts, storyboards, prototypes, facilitator guides, learner materials, job aids, and digital toolkits;
(b) Develop or support the development of mobile-responsive eLearning content using Articulate Rise 360, Storyline 360, and other approved authoring tools;
(c) Design interactive activities, case-based simulations, assessments, remediation pathways, and learner feedback;
(d) Write and review scripts for instructional videos, animations, demonstrations, professional narration, and custom graphics;
(e) Collaborate with multimedia developers, graphic designers, videographers, translators, voice-over professionals, and technology partners;
(f) Design source content and templates to facilitate translation, cultural adaptation, voice-over production, and localization into Indian and other program-relevant languages;
(g) Support the development of digital or web-based toolkits and other performance-support resources;
(4) Subject-matter expert and stakeholder coordination;
(a) Facilitate structured collaboration with clinical, public health, programmatic, and learning-technology subject-matter experts;
(b) Plan and coordinate content-development and technical-review processes;
(c) Consolidate stakeholder feedback, document decisions, maintain review trackers, and follow up on pending inputs and approvals;
(d) Reconcile differing stakeholder inputs in consultation with the relevant technical leads;
(e) Present learning strategies, design recommendations, prototypes, and completed products to internal and external stakeholders;
(f) Maintain effective communication with project teams and provide regular updates on progress, risks, dependencies, and support requirements;
(5) Project coordination and quality assurance;
(a) Support the preparation and maintenance of workplans, production schedules, level-of-effort estimates, review calendars, risk logs, and activity trackers;
(b) Coordinate assigned work across instructional designers, multimedia developers, consultants, vendors, and other contributors;
(c) Manage multiple learning-development activities and review cycles while meeting agreed timelines and quality standards;
(d) Conduct instructional, editorial, technical, functional, accessibility, and user-experience quality reviews;
(e) Support usability testing and pilot implementation with representative learners and stakeholders;
(f) Document and follow up on quality issues and ensure that identified defects are addressed before release;
(g) Maintain organized editable source files, version histories, technical-review records, and handover documentation;
(h) Ensure adherence to Client’s technical, editorial, branding, accessibility, and digital-learning standards;
(6) Learning technology and continuous improvement;
(a) Support the packaging, testing, deployment, and maintenance of digital learning content through approved learning platforms;
(b) Review products for mobile responsiveness, browser compatibility, low-bandwidth usability, and applicable learning-technology standards;
(c) Use learner feedback, assessment results, platform analytics, and implementation findings to recommend improvements;
(d) Update existing learning products in response to changes in technical guidance, program priorities, learner feedback, or technology requirements;
(e) Contribute to reusable templates, design standards, quality-assurance tools, and knowledge products for Client’s technology-enabled learning portfolio;
(f) Document lessons learned and share relevant practices with project and organizational teams;
(g) Provide technical guidance, feedback, coaching, and mentoring to other instructional designers and development partners;
(h) Undertake other related responsibilities assigned by the Senior Advisor, Tech-Enabled Learning, in line with program priorities and the consultant’s area of expertise;
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications and Experience:
(1) Applicants must have master’s degree in instructional design, education, learning sciences, public health, nursing, medicine, allied health, health professions education, or another relevant field. A bachelor’s degree combined with substantial relevant experience may be considered;
(2) Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible experience in instructional design, digital learning, curriculum development, or learning and capacity building;
(3) At least three years of experience leading complex learning-development assignments, coordinating multiple stakeholders, or mentoring instructional designers and development teams;
(4) Demonstrated experience designing clinical, health professions, or public health education for health professionals, frontline health workers, or public health personnel;
(5) Experience translating complex clinical and technical material into accurate, accessible, and engaging learning experiences;
(6) Strong portfolio demonstrating eLearning products developed using Articulate Rise 360, Storyline 360, or comparable authoring tools;
(7) Demonstrated experience in case-based, scenario-based, simulation-based, or competency - based learning;

5. Compensation Offered: The monthly Gross remuneration budgeted for the role is INR 152,928/- approx.

8. NATURE OF Engagement:
The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Fixed Term Employee (FTE) on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time engagement initially offered for a period of six months. The FTE is extendable based on performance and project requirements.
