Senior Program Officer

Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for Senior Program Officers based at Jalgaon and Nandurbar, Maharashtra to coordinate day-to-day implementation for an Unitaid project that seeks to reduce PPH-related mortality and morbidity globally. The Program Officer will have the overall responsibility to program and coordinate implementation activities in-country alongside District Health Management Teams (DHMTs) and relevant facility-based personnel and CHWs. S/he will be responsible the following tasks:
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Work closely with national and state teams and support in implementation and monitoring of project activities as per agreed plan and timelines;
(2) Support various project activities including trainings, on-site coaching, workshop planning, logistics planning and management to ensure smooth project implementation;
(3) Support in development and submission of reports and presentations for donors, and other key stakeholders including regulatory bodies, various ministries, and partner agencies;
(4) Program and coordinate implementation of PPH activities in-country alongside DHMTs, relevant facility-based personnel and CHWs;
(5) Work with project teams to undertake process and program documentation, covering all aspects of project implementation and management at program field locations;
(6) Support project teams in implementation of various project activities;
(7) Support in knowledge management of various projects;
(8) Support the development of evaluation/research tools and research protocols with support of supervisor, concerned program staff/external evaluators;
(9) Support in the analysis of program data collected and ensure that documents are appropriately prepared for periodic data audit;
(10) Work with the program teams, facilities and government counterparts to implement, monitor and report on training activities including M&E frameworks and reports;
(11) Frequent travel to the state and districts as per the project’s requirement;
(12) Perform other activities, as assigned by the supervisor to achieve organizational goals;
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications and Experience
(1) The applicant must have a MBBS/BAMS/Nursing graduate, preferably master’s in public health, policy, health management or a related field;
(2) At least 1-3 years of relevant professional experience of working with national and international health programs/ organizations especially in the field of public health and related activities.
(3) Understanding of Global Health and development approaches with willingness to learn the technical side of program implementation;
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Experience and demonstrated ability in working with government’s Reproductive Health and Child Health programs, counterparts, and systems;
(2) Strong written and oral communication skills in English, Hindi, and Marathi;
(3) Ability to develop productive working relationships with other agencies, stakeholders and other organizations including government counterparts;
(4) Ability to work within a consortium and communicate regularly with a variety of team members in multiple locations;
(5) Technically proficient with skills required for the assigned task;
(6) Proficiency in writing technical documents such as training materials and reports;
(7) Ability to develop productive working relationships with other agencies, stakeholders, and other organizations;
(8) Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines;
(9) Ability to multitask and work in a multi-cultural team;
(10) Willingness and flexibility to work on a wide range of tasks;
(11) Microsoft Office computer skills, proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
(12) Ability to travel extensively up to 50–60% of his/her time;
5. Compensation Offered: The remuneration budgeted for the role is INR 60,000/- per month INR 48,000/ (as per actual for travel).

9. NATURE OF Engagement:
The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Fixed Term Employee (FTE) on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time engagement initially offered for a period of four months. The FTE is extendable based on performance and project requirements.
