About Jhpiego: Jhpiego is a nonprofit global health leader and Johns Hopkins University affiliate that is saving lives, improving health, and transforming futures. We partner with governments, health experts and local communities to build the skills and systems that guarantee a healthier future for women and families. Jhpiego translates the best science and practice into moments of care that can mean the difference between life and death for women and families. The moment a woman gives birth; the moment a midwife helps a newborn to breath. Through our partnerships, we are revolutionizing health care for the world’s most disadvantaged and vulnerable people.
In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, strengthening human resources for health, and non-communicable diseases. These programs are funded by Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited, Unitaid, UNICEF, World Health Organization, University of Manitoba, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), MSD for Mothers and others. Multiple programs implemented by Jhpiego with different state governments are having specific learning agenda and objectives. Each program involves wide range of data collection in various implementation geographies across India. |

About the project- Jhpiego, in collaboration with the National TB Elimination Program (NTEP), Government of Odisha, is implementing an intervention to identify tuberculosis infection (TB Infection/TBI) among individuals at increased risk of developing active tuberculosis. The project aims to facilitate early identification of TB infection among selected high-risk populations through Interferon Gamma Release Assay (IGRA) testing and support timely referral to NTEP for further clinical evaluation and consideration of TB Preventive Treatment (TPT), as per prevailing national guidelines. The intervention will be implemented in selected public health facilities in Boudh and Dhenkanal districts of Odisha and will cover approximately 2,000 eligible beneficiaries through a combination of facility-based and home-based blood sample collection services. The target population includes individuals with Diabetes Mellitus (DM), Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), including patients undergoing dialysis, cancer patients attending oncology/day-care services, and any additional high-risk groups identified by the project during implementation.
Jhpiego intends to engage an experienced NABL-accredited diagnostic laboratory to provide end-to-end laboratory services, including sample collection, transportation, IGRA testing, quality assurance, reporting, and data sharing in accordance with applicable national guidelines and manufacturer specifications.
2. Objective The objective of this engagement is to provide reliable, timely, and quality-assured IGRA testing services for approximately 2,000 beneficiaries in Boudh and Dhenkanal districts by ensuring efficient sample collection, transportation, laboratory testing, reporting, and coordination with the project team throughout the implementation period ending 31 March 2027.
