1. POSITION VACANT: Fundraising Associate, Joti Foundation, New Chandigarh, Punjab

Joti Foundation (JOTI) is a registered non-governmental organization headquartered in New Chandigarh, Punjab. The Foundation works in close collaboration with a wide network of government agencies, national and international non-governmental organizations, bilateral institutions, and civil society partners to design and implement programs that create lasting social impact.

 

JOTI’s programmatic work spans areas including Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), anticipatory action and early warning systems, emergency and humanitarian response, climate resilience, community livelihoods, social protection, and rehabilitation of vulnerable populations. 3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 
The Fundraising Associate (FA) will work under the guidance and supervision of the Fundraising Consultant and shall be responsible for supporting the day-to-day functions of the resource mobilization unit. This role involves assisting in all aspects of the fundraising cycle, including opportunity research, proposal development, donor communication, grant reporting, and database management. This role also requires hands-on fundraising experience, strong writing skills, and a keen interest in growing within the development sector.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

(A) Supporting the Fundraising Consultant - Day-to-Day Functions:

(1) Assist the Fundraising Consultant in planning and executing daily fundraising tasks, correspondence, and donor engagements;

(2) Maintain and update the fundraising pipeline tracker including logging new opportunities, proposal statuses, submission deadlines, and follow-up actions;

(3) Coordinate with program and finance teams on behalf of the Consultant to gather inputs required for proposals, reports, and donor communications;

(4) Prepare meeting notes, briefing documents, and donor meeting summaries as directed by the Consultant;

(5) Manage the fundraising calendar including tracking grant cycles, reporting deadlines, and renewal timelines to ensure no opportunity is missed.

 

(B) Grant Research & Proposal Development:

(1) Research and identify relevant funding opportunities from institutional donors, CSR foundations, government grant schemes, bilateral and multilateral agencies, and international grant-makers;

(2) Compile funding opportunity briefs and share timely updates with the Fundraising Consultant for review and prioritization;

(3) Draft concept notes, Letters of Inquiry (LoIs), and sections of full grant proposals under the guidance of the Consultant;

(4) Assist in developing project narratives, logical frameworks (log frames), theory of change documents, and results indicators for grant applications;

(5) Coordinate with the finance team to compile budget inputs and support the preparation of budget narratives for proposals.

 

(C) Donor Communication & Stewardship:

(1) Draft and send routine donor communications, acknowledgement letters, progress updates, and meeting requests as directed by the Consultant;

(2) Maintain an organized donor database (CRM) recording interactions, tracking engagement history, and flagging upcoming follow-ups;

(3) Prepare donor-facing materials such as one-pagers, program summaries, and impact briefs to support outreach and engagement efforts;

(4) Support the Consultant in arranging and preparing materials for donor meetings, calls, and site visits.

 

(D) Grant Reporting & Compliance:

(1) Assist in the preparation and submission of narrative and financial donor reports in accordance with grant agreements and reporting schedules;

(2) Coordinate with program and finance teams to collate data, field updates, and financial information required for reports;

(3) Maintain organized records of all grant documents, donor correspondence, agreements, and utilization certificates;

(4) Support the Consultant in ensuring compliance with donor visibility, documentation, and audit requirements.

 

(E) Partnerships & Institutional Linkages:

(1) Support the Consultant in identifying and pursuing partnership opportunities with national and international organizations, government bodies, and civil society networks;

(2) Assist in responding to Calls for Proposals (CFPs), Expressions of Interest (EoIs), and government tenders relevant to JF's mandate;

(3) Help maintain active relationships with partner organizations and support the documentation of MoUs and collaboration frameworks;

(4) Participate in sector-level events, networking forums, and coordination meetings to expand JF's visibility in the development funding landscape.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualification:

(1) Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Public Policy, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field;

(2) Additional certification or training in fundraising, grant writing, or nonprofit management will be an advantage;

Experience:

(1) Minimum three to five years of hands-on experience in fundraising, grant writing, or resource mobilization within the NGO or development sector;

(2) Demonstrated experience in supporting or drafting successful grant proposals for institutional, CSR, or bilateral donors;

(3) Prior experience working with FCRA-registered organizations, government-funded programs, or internationally supported development projects will be a strong advantage;

(4) Familiarity with disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, humanitarian response, or social protection programming is desirable;

 

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Hindi is essential;

(2) Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and synthesize diverse funding opportunities;

(3) Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with CRM tools or proposal management platforms is a plus;

(4) Working knowledge of logical framework analysis (LFA), theory of change, and results-based management approaches;

(5) High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and meet tight deadlines;

(6) Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;

(7) Comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with evolving priorities;

(8) Genuine commitment to social development, community resilience, and the values of equity and inclusion.

 

5. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

 

The gross compensation budgeted for the position ranges from Rs. 50,000/- to 60,000/- per month. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
