Organization Background
Keystone Human Services India Association (KHSIA) is a charitable organization registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013. KHSIA’s registered office is in Delhi, with a project office in Dehradun, Uttarakhand with a geographical presence across several States in India. KHSIA works with a network of partners, convenes stakeholders, supports capacity-building initiatives and implements programmes in furtherance of disability inclusion and community-based support. KHSIA operates in such States and Union Territories as may be approved by its Board and as may be permissible under applicable laws, registrations, donor approvals and regulatory permissions, including FCRA requirements where applicable.
Since KHSIA’s establishment in 2016, it has been working to improve the lives of people with disability across India and contribute to evidence-based initiatives and sectoral capacity building for disability inclusion and community participation. KHSIA exists to serve as a catalyst toward developing a service system in India that better safeguards vulnerable people, respects the voices and perspectives of people with disability and their families, and facilitates India’s movement toward a society where all people have possibilities and potential in all matter.
Reports to
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) reports directly to KHSIA’s Board of Directors.
Job Description
The CEO is the senior leadership role central to the organization’s growth. The responsibilities of the position are both programmatic and organizational leadership. The CEO will provide integrated leadership across KHSIA’s program portfolios and shared services, translating vision into executable plans, disciplined operating rhythms, and sustainable organizational capabilities.
He/ She will be responsible for creating a positive work environment, increasing individual capacity while also inculcating greater ownership and accountability. As KHSIA grows, the CEO will be responsible for leading fundraising efforts to expand KHSIA’s portfolio and developing strong operational systems and protocols that support this growth.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
(A) Enterprise Strategy & Organizational Transformation
(1) Provide overall strategic stewardship of KHSIA’s mission, setting enterprise-level direction, priorities, and success measures for the organization as per the main objects of KHSIA.
(2) Develop and implement a transition and growth plan for KHSIA that supports the organization to be mission ready for the future.
(3) Lead organization-wide transformation initiatives, including operating model evolution, leadership capability development, and adoption of new ways of working.
(4) Anticipate future institutional needs arising from scale, complexity, regulatory context, and sectoral shifts, and shape adaptive strategies for long-term sustainability.
(5) Act as a strategic thought partner to the Board of Directors on organizational design, institutional maturity, and resilience.
(B) Program Leadership
(1) Provide strategic and operational leadership to KHSIA programs and initiatives.
(2) Lead the scale-up of programs, ensuring expansion, measurable improvements in access, quality, and life outcomes for beneficiaries as per applicable statutes.
(3) Ensure consistently high standards of program quality, safeguarding, compliance, and outcome measurement.
(4) Strengthen Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) systems to support program-level evidence-based decision-making.
(5) Manage the operational and stakeholder complexity inherent in large, multi-location national programs.
(C) Leadership of Shared Functions
(1) Provide executive oversight and leadership to Programs, Finance, HR, Fundraising, Communications, and Administration functions.
(2) Ensure shared functions are structured, staffed, and governed to effectively enable program delivery and organizational priorities.
(3) Strengthen core organizational systems, policies, internal controls, and functional capacities appropriate for a and institution with Pan India aspirations.
(D) Resource Mobilization & Financial Sustainability
(1) Hold overall accountability for fundraising performance and medium-term financial sustainability.
(2) Personally cultivate and steward relationships with key donors, CSR partners, foundations, and institutional funders.
(3) Support diversification of funding sources, including grants and institutional partnerships.
(4) Responsible for the organization’s budgets, financial controls, audits, reserves/cash flow, grant utilization, and donor financial reporting. Work closely with the Finance and Administration department to ensure prudent financial management, transparency, and risk mitigation.
(E) Organizational Planning, Governance, Rhythm & Alignment
(1) Lead organization-wide planning and performance processes, including Annual Operating Plans, budgets, KPIs, and periodic reviews.
(2) Establish and sustain organizational rhythm through disciplined planning cycles, leadership forums, and review mechanisms.
(3) Anchor consolidated dashboards and management information systems to support effective oversight.
(4) Ensure compliance with applicable statutory laws including but not limited to FCRA, safeguarding, and donor requirements.
(5) Ensure people and organizational practices meet high standards of governance, compliance, and risk management.
(F) Cultural, Diversity and Inclusion Commitment

(H) Regulations & Compliance
(1) Accurately completes required documentation within the prescribed timeframes.
(2) Adheres to all licensing, national, state and local regulations as well as health and safety policies.
(3) Maintains confidentiality standards in accordance with all company and regulatory standards.
(4) Maintains strict adherence to the organization’s safeguarding policies ensuring children, women, people with disabilities, people of diverse gender, religion, ethnicity, caste, and other vulnerable/marginalized adults coming in contact with KHSIA are treated with respect and are free from abuse.
Professional Qualifications
As KHSIA’s CEO, the incumbent is expected to be someone who has both passion and experience of getting organizations off the ground, putting in place coherent vision and strategy, and building a team that will collectively work towards expanding the work, impact and reputation of the organization. They are responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic planning of the organization while also fundraising.
Requirements
- Advanced degree, at minimum a master’s degree in social sciences, management, business administration, public policy, education, development studies or a related field.
- At least 15 years of progressive leadership experience, ideally within the Indian social impact sector.
- At least 7 years of senior management experience with a track record of effectively leading an organization with examples of having developed and operationalized strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth.
- Prior experience in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor engagement, and financial stewardship with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
- Strong understanding of laws that govern non-profit organizations in India and regulatory compliance.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
- Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning.
- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
- Passion, integrity, positive attitude, and proactive.
Desired Experience
- Certifications on non-profit/organizational management, or program management.
- Prior experience managing projects specifically with donor reporting and financial accountability.
- Exposure to disability, child protection, care reform, or community programs.
Work Environment
This position is based in New Delhi, India however with KHSIA operating across multiple states, there is an expectation for domestic travel with a possibility of international travel.
Physical Requirements
None. The work requested does not involve undue physical demands.
Compensation Offered
The compensation for this position is commensurate with experience, seniority, and alignment with KHSIA’s leadership requirements.
