1. POSITIONS VACANT: Senior Consultant, International Not-for-Profit Organization, Khargone, Madhya Pradesh.

2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:

Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Consultant based at Khargone, Madhya Pradesh to coordinate day-to-day implementation for maternal health projects that seek to reduce preventable maternal mortality and morbidity globally. The Senior Consultant will have overall responsibility for programming and coordinating implementation activities in-country alongside District Health Management Teams (DHMTs), relevant facility-based personnel, and CHWs. S/he will be responsible for the following work;

Key Job Responsibilities: 

(1) To provide technical assistance to regional/ divisional and district authorities to streamline and bring in efficiency to the new programs;

(2) To liaise and support the Government at regional/ divisional and District level as per the need to develop and execute strategies for improving, innovating and integrating newer initiatives;
(3) To represent Client at various forums as a technical expert at regional/ divisional and district level;

(4) Facilitate regular divisional reviews to monitor program implementation and assess performance against set goals;
(5) Liaise and provide technical guidance to Program officers;

(6) Implement and disseminate evidence-based standard clinical protocols and job aids to support frontline healthcare workers;

(7) Provide technical support to ensure data-driven decision-making during divisional & district reviews;

(8) Support state and district teams in implementing strategies to improve ANC and delivery indicators, ensuring measurable outcomes;

(9) Supervise ongoing district-level programmatic interventions under Unitaid and iWIN project;

(10) Conduct and monitor the training conducted for program staff and stakeholders;

(11) Mainstream and strengthen capacity-building efforts through existing health systems at divisional level;

(12) Supervise and monitor district teams for efficient program delivery;

(13) Closely support divisional headquarters in maternal death surveillance & response;

(14) Document lessons learned, challenges, and best practices to improve program outcomes;

(15) Provide regular updates to state and district teams through comprehensive reports and presentations;

(16) Foster collaboration with key stakeholders, including local government bodies and healthcare institutions;

(17) Perform or assume other duties assigned by the supervisor;

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications and Experience:

(1) Applicants must have MBBS /BAMS /BHMS /Nursing graduate, preferably master’s in public health, policy, health management or MSc Nursing;
(2) Minimum 7 years’ experience of working in maternal and child health; Working at the state level is desirable;

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Experience and demonstrated ability in Maternal and child health programs;

(2) Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi;

(3) Technically proficient with skills required for the assigned task;

(4) Proficiency in writing technical documents such as training materials and reports;

(5) Ability to work within an international program team and communicate regularly with a variety of team members including senior government officials;

(6) Ability to develop productive working relationships with stakeholders;
(7) Ability to handle a variety of assignments;

(8) Ability to multitask and work in a multi-cultural team;
(9) Willingness and flexibility to work on a wide range of tasks;

(10) Strong demonstrated MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills;

5. CONSULTANCY FEE: Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. Please note that the offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:

The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of Three months. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
